RE: What's needed for sewer hose storage

It may seam expensive but this system works like a champ 6"sewer hose carrier https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71GsM37av6L._AC_UL232_SR232,232_.jpg This is likely similar to what will be used to replace the factory setup.

RE: What's needed for sewer hose storage

We installed two Rubbermaid packer boxes on the hitch platform. The one on the right is for sewer hoses etc (yucky stuff), the one on the left is for chocks and levelelling blocks etc. The centre one is stock and had the propane. But we also carry the fresh water hoses, empty water jugs for campground use and an empty bucket. We pack the hitch light. And we mounted a strap and brackets for our little 6 gallon tote tank. Nice setup for us. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53039770824_fce4e119bf_k. width=640jpg Great idea, unfortunately on this trailer the propane tanks and batteries are in compartments that have doors that open in those areas. That said, what a great way to maximize your storage. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53003784537_ef3ca976f3_k. width=640jpg

RE: What's needed for sewer hose storage

Thank you everyone, I'll be figuring it out this week and I'll post up with what I decide. Right now I'm thinking a tote might just be the ticket, then I may see about removing the existing storage setup and making it straight so it looks factory but actually allows a hose to be stored. The trailer I have has a plastic skirt around the bottom that helps with aero, but also has a door in it for the hose storage, so modifying it would be a good idea.

What's needed for sewer hose storage

Hi everybody, I'm looking at the modifications people have made, and I'm wondering what's required for sewer hose storage? By this I mean my trailer has a storage but it curves immediately and I cannot put a hose in it if it has connectors. My thought was to use a piece of pvc pipe on the rear to store my new Rhinoflex 15' hose, rough measurement seemed to be 4.5", but that doesn't seem to jive with most rv's having 4" rear bumpers and that would be a 5"pipe. So, what size pvc pipe is needed to store such a hose? Is there a better way, as in cheaper? There is no bumper on the rear, just two 1/2" square tubes sticking out. Eventually I plan to add a small rack to this, but I can adjust as needed when I'm ready for that. Thank you in advance for any advice, as the trailer needs to be brought home this week and that means draining the tanks, which means the hose isn't going back inside the trailer.

RE: Water pump short cycling, how to fix

It doesn't matter which faucet I'm using, the pump cycles on and off about every 2-3 seconds, creating a surge-fade cycle. An accumulator fixes the problem. I've used one in all my RVs since 2003. Here's a video of the last one I installed It is in the future plans for the unit, but right now getting the adjustment made to the pump has solved the issue.

RE: Water pump short cycling, how to fix

Spent 4 days on the property and made the adjustments. First thing to note, this pump is just a simple Phillips screw to adjust. Second, yes it was the issue, shower runs great now. Overall I had to add about one and a half turns, but pump runs great now. Thank you everyone for the advice.

RE: Water pump short cycling, how to fix

This is a Suburban water heater, but the anode was out when I bought it and brought it home. The anode was very clean and I did rinse the water heater prior to installing it. Having watched a few videos on adjusting the pump, I'm certain it is the issue. The trailer was owned by a family association and based on the documentation left in the trailer, they weren't the most technically inclined. I bought from Camping World, so they do nothing with used units. So I'll try adjusting when I'm back at camp this weekend. I'll report back with findings, but it seems like the simplest solution for the time being.

Check out "attenuators" they use a compressed air pocket to smooth out the pressure. It can also provide a short time of pressure for those late night trips. You splice it in line after the pump. This is the accumulator I mentioned, and might be another option. I'll try adjusting first, then use this if needed.

RE: Water pump short cycling, how to fix

There are a few videos on YouTube. I recently bought a new pump and had to adjust it. Thank you, I'll search them up and get an idea before I go back to the trailer.

RE: Water pump short cycling, how to fix

If I understand correctly, this surging happens while you are using water, and not when the faucets are turned off. There should be a pressure adjustment allen screw on the pressure switch. Turning clockwise will increase the pressure at which the pump will turn off. This is the info I was looking for, thank you I'll get into it and check it out.

RE: Water pump short cycling, how to fix

The answer is that you have a leak in your water system someplace at or after the pump. The pump is trying to build pressure but it can't because the pressure is leaking out someplace. Start ar the pump and make sure all fittings are tight and keep an eye open for wet spots. No that would be cycling when I'm not using a faucet, that I'm aware of and all lines and systems have been leak checked.

Water pump short cycling, how to fix

Hello everyone, I have a new to me 04 Alpenlite Aspen 28RK, and I'm a little worried about the way the water pump runs. First and foremost, this is not the original water pump, as the manufacture date is 2010. Pump is a Shurflo 2208-422-444, 2.8 gpm 45 psi. It doesn't matter which faucet I'm using, the pump cycles on and off about every 2-3 seconds, creating a surge-fade cycle. My concern is this will wear the pump out early, and I almost exclusively boondock, so I need the pump to last. Aside from removing aerators at the faucets and boring out the shower wand, what can I do to stop the cycling and get smooth water pressure? My old 91 Wilderness 24C didn't have this issue with any faucets so I'm at a loss here. Is my only option an accumulator, or the aforementioned "modifications" the only options?
